Designed by Emmanuel Babled, the Quark collection is a series of low coffee tables, consisting of organic and fluid forms in such materials as wood, plexiglass, bronze, copper and marble.
The shape is pretty complex so Emmanuel relies on a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) robot to help with the shaping, therefore a robot helps with the organic fluidity – now there’s a fun juxtaposition!
The finished product embodies the hard and solid materials with an almost liquid form.
The Quark Bronze is a new metal version that continues Emmanuel’s exploration of materials and production techniques within his monolithic tables.
This new metal version of Quark takes on a fiery glow within its reflective surface.
The marble seems almost lightweight with its wondering silhouette.
The tight graining within the wood is an powerful contrast to the curvacious shape.
The Plexiglass tables shimmer within their refracted reflections created by the undulations.
