The client “did not want a white box minimalist house,” so Australian architecture firm MAC Interactive Architects designed the Stirling House in Sydney, Australia. Dubbed by locals as “The Arc,” this cool 3-level house plan embraces the terrace typology, transforming the indoors into alfresco living spaces and outdoor entertaining areas. The timber facade wraps an irregular frame, which brings architectural interest to the exterior and interior as well. Inside, the eclectic, casual atmosphere lends itself to comfortable living and lounging. Industrial-chic meets modern finishes like polished concrete floors and oddly angled walls and ceilings, bring a lofty urban interior design to the home. But luxury hasn’t been spared, either. We love the rich wood floors and check out the fireplace feature – a hot focal point. MAC Interactive Architects
