They say good things come in threes, and in the case of Seattle-based architecture firm Pb Elemental, their three-in-one Cloverdale 3 house design proves that to be true. New to the South Park area of Seattle, Washington, this modern home boasts 3,720 sq. ft. and three individual residences. The structure has a strong vertical presence, with a full face of windows and the others clad in warm cedar wood and contemporary white and grey aluminum panels. Behind its facade, this modern urban house features a pair of identical duplex apartments, and a tri-level home. Needless to day, a thoughtful and efficient use of space was a must, and the innovative floor plans make this residence really work. The foyer gives way to a U-shaped kitchen, and a high ceiling to enhance the sense of space. A second-level loft is naturally lit via three skylights, and features a private master bath. Here, a set of cedar stairs leads to a rooftop deck overlooking the city. “Seen in the streamlined interior architecture, the home accommodates a progressive lifestyle, designed space for only the necessary, the home leaves no room or place for unnecessary material things,” according to Pb Elemental. “The primary materials used are clean and honest: concrete, steel, glass, and bamboo hardwood, designed to flush with existing planes of counters, cabinetry, and walls.” Pb Elemental.
