In this Montauk house that looks sort of familiar from the outside lives ‘luxurious, affordable design’, a principle implemented by the design firm Décor Aid. From the looks of it, you’d expect lot of wooden furniture and busy patterns on the inside, but instead what you find is a contemporary and stylish interior upgrade that stuns with its black and white color scheme.
Crisp and sharp, the interior design creates a generous canvas for statement decor accents and bright details. Natural lighting that fills the abode’s numerous windows amplifies its cool airy look. And the modern tall windows leading toward the backyard open up to the landscaped views of green and red.
The uniform approach probably helped to cut down some costs. In every room there are all the same materials, creating a smart minimal look. Grey wood plank floors add dimension to the white walls with black details.
You can see how the focus on decor and smaller furnishings enriches the clean space. Unique pieces are interchanging with classic modernist shapes and designs. New interior architecture elements are scarce, but a statement black staircase frame punctuates the design perfectly.
Each room is so simple and yet every one of them has its own accents that give it character. It is not easy to create an interior design that is both luxe-looking and affordable, but it goes to show that it’s not impossible.
