A growing family could use a growing house, but this isn’t your typical addition. Designed by Andrew Maynard Architects, the Tattoo House is an extension to a three-bedroom home in Fitzroy North, a suburb in Melbourne, Australia, designed to as a kitchen and living area to accommodate a growing family. Inspired by a tight budget, the Tattoo House is a simple and strong two-storey box design brimming with functional design within – a kitchen bench that doubles as part of the stairway; and a window screened with UV-stable stickers to provide privacy from the outside, visual interest from the inside, and reflect heat and glare for a comfortable interior environment.
