Balmoral House by Ian Moore Architects Brings Nature Indoors

Located in the Balmoral neighborhood of Sydney, Australia, the Balmoral House by Ian Moore Architects was completed in 2006 and put on the market with a $10-million price tag. The spectacular, sprawling structure was designed with two staggered pavilions, separated by an entranceway which leads to the deck and plunge pool below, finished in Basalt stone cladding and hardwood. Inspired by nature, the outdoor elements make their way inside Balmoral House via virtually invisible frameless glass doors. The western wing on Balmoral House boasts the main bedroom and en-suite on the upper level, and a study overlooking an open-to-above dining area, living area, kitchen, laundry facilities and guest bathroom. The eastern wing houses more bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper level, while the lower level is completed with a second living room, and a garage with a separate guest suite, gym and wine cellar. The two living rooms are connected by a deck overlooking the plunge pool. Ian Moore Architects
