When the architects at Bayden Goddard Design created this beachfront luxury home located on Australia’s Gold Coast, it’s no doubt that this Albatross Avenue site – with adjoining parkland to the south and breathtaking beachfront to the east – had a deep impact on this nature-infused design. A grand facade of recycled timber, stone and widespread glazing is the perfect complement to the landscape. Sliding-glass walls encircle the ground floor for a luxury “view-through” floor plan offering outside access from every room. Inside, a glazed hallway encircles a central courtyard, delivering additional access to the outdoors. The piece de resistance has got to be main living room, boasting a 25-meter wall of glass and panoramic views of sun, surf and sand. Here, multiple dining, living and lounging “nooks” bring variety and versatility to traditional floor plan. A kitchen of marble and timber makes a warm and welcoming hub of the home. But if there’s still a chill in the air, the modern fireplace, tucked at the base of a natural sandstone wall, will do just the trick. Upstairs, bedrooms boast ocean views. The home’s beach-side facade is lined by a sandstone terrace for an al fresco atmosphere. Bayden Goddard Design
