You might say that this beautiful country house designed by Hutchison & Maul Architecture is for the birds – and bird-lovers looking for a luxurious place to kick back and enjoy the view. Located on Vashon Island, Washington, Bird House is an amazing 2,400-sq.-ft. home boasting beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows that provide panoramic views from virtually any room. From the exterior, the house blends beautifully with surrounding countryside, thanks to the heavy use of glass and wood for its facade. The house consists of two volumes – a living pavilion, and a sleeping tower, which are connected via a glazed entry foyer. The expansive main roof overhangs on each side of the house, giving the illusion of a pair of wings in flight. Interiors are warm, featuring lots of rustic wood from ceiling to floor throughout the home, creating a charming, country chic ambience. Beyond this, the main focus is always on the windows, and the world outside. Hutchison & Maul Architecture.
