UK-based firm AR Design created this contemporary coastal architecture to focus on the views outward, and as importantly, to be seen! The oceanfront house in finished with a clean, ultra-contemporary aesthetic blending industrial-chic elements and refined touches like polished countertops and floor-to-ceiling glass. The minimalist interiors put the focus squarely on what’s going on outdoors – the UK’s South Coast, the Solent and the Isle of Wight. Running up the center, a modern industrial-style spiral staircase anchors the house and its multiple cantilevers, winding its way up to an illuminated glass-enclosed roof top loft (thus the home’s moniker – Lighthouse 65). The glass cube glows according to the weather conditions – green when the weather is fair, or red – sailors beware! Venture out to the upper-level deck (also home to parking for three cars!) to take in the sparkling waterfront views. AR Design
