This cozy compact cottage designed by Netherlands architects Onix Architects has a simple, organic aesthetic and feel befitting of a rural retreat. The wood clad cottage is warm and earthy, inside and out. The timber facade matched interiors, where natural wood is used to finish the floors, walls and ceiling. A center island is the hub of this compact house design, boasting an integrated fireplace feature with sink, stone and prep area, all in one. A wall of thin, vertical windows creates a lovely focal point while naturally illuminating the interiors. A cozy outdoor patio – wood, of course – offers a great spot to stop and take in these peaceful surroundings. Onix Architects
