Designed by Philip Jackson for Cattelan Italia, Spyder Wood is a design dining table with base in matt white or matt graphite varnished steel, stainless steel or canaletto walnut. The top is available in Canaletto walnut and in a darker wood color called burned oak. The designer was inspired by the shape of a spider when designing this table, therefore its name. The table top with its irregular natural solid wood edges gives a rustic look to this table at first sight. However, looking at it as a whole, the metal structure and the shape of the legs brings a more contemporary feel to it, so the overall impression is that of a modern table. It comes in three sizes, out of which the 100 x 200 cm and the 120 x 240 cm are more standard ones. The 120 x 300 cm size gives an extraordinary table, as the very long table top will look like a giant plank of freshly cut wood. The thickness of the top will lose its weight against the length, so despite its actual weight the table will look light and sleek. Spyder Wood can look great in many environments, and the choice of dining chairs will give the final touch. It can also be presented without chairs around it, to enhance its sculptural nature.
