This cool folded house designed by contemporary Japanese architecture firm Alphaville breaks from convention, opting instead for open varied volumes in place of traditional rectangular rooms, and a “folded” wall running down the center, lined with windows that infuse interiors with natural indirect light. The reinforced concrete house spans three storeys and a cozy 100m2, but it feels much larger thanks to its creative layout. The minimalist interiors feature a clean white palette, and carte blanche for the architecture that sets the tone in this modern architectural design. An angular staircase leads you up through the home – it’s as much a fabulous focal point as it is a functional one. Alphaville
