What a fun lamp! This table light from FontanaArte is called Mano – for hand. And who doesn’t need a helping hand now and then? The stark white of the hand is a sharp contrast to the matte black of the base and shade. Originally designed in 1932 by Pietro Chiesa, the great Italian art deco designer, it has been reissued by FontanaArte. It reminds us of that hand from the Adams Family television show! Both the hand and the base are constructed of marble powder and resin. The diffused shade is black fabric lined with white PCV and the lamp has a dimmer so you can adjust the brightness to your liking. This fantastic table lamp is an Art Deco design icon and we’re delighted it’s been brought back to life. It’s just so full of character and such a whimsical piece – you could use it in any room where you might need a hand.
Doesn’t it look like the hand from The Adams Family TV show?
