Echoing the long, flat landscape, Damilano Studio designed this Italian countryside house to reflect the clean horizon. Fittingly dubbed the Horizontal House, this contemporary style house in Cuneo, Italy is a cool, white slab that’s understated, yet thrilling to an architectural eye. This horizontal house boasts walls of windows that open to the seemingly endless scene outside. This modern, minimalist house is a veritable playground for modernists, with a white palette that matches the facade. Interesting architectural details, ultra-modern furnishings and expansive glass walls and their accompanying views are visible from every point in this open-concept home. Echoing the home’s horizontal theme, a wide kitchen window takes the place of a traditional backsplash, framed in warm wood to complement the natural wood floors. Damilano Studio
