It’s no doubt that this luxury lake home in Seattle, Washington, was designed by a Washington native, to maximize on the often-scarce daylight, and the always-magnificent views of the area. Aptly named Cedar Park House, this modern home design by architect Peter Cohan is angled to take in the view of Lake Washington through its expansive windows which make up a large portion of the home’s facade. When windows end, natural cedar siding begins, completing a perfect picture within the treed landscape. The home’s contemporary clean-cut Japanese influences are apparent, but don’t overwhelm the earthy appeal of the modern 5,500-sq.-ft. design. The outdoors make their way in through seamless sliding glass doors and with the widespread wood dressing the floors, walls and interior accents. Cohan angled the rooms to open onto the terrace and lawn, solidifying this luxury home’s characteristic connection to the outdoors. “The idea was all about the outdoor spaces, with a ring of activities around them,” Cohan told The Seattle Times in an interview.
