Understairs storage is a great idea for maximizing space. Often times, space under the stairs can be wasted so if your layout permits, why not integrate some. This is a wonderful example. The storage units can be pulled out revealing numerous shelves for household storage and when closed they blend right in. Alternatively, the larger units could also be closets with doors. This would allow for storing tall items upright, like a vacuum or a broom, or even for hanging clothes. But as this example shows, shelves are a wiser choice for the shorter units as it is more convenient to place items in this fashion, otherwise storage of standing or upright items may not necessarily fit.
