Designed by Slovenian architecture firm Bevk Perovic Arhitekti, House R is a charming rural home in the Alpine village of Bohinj, Slovenia. Indicative of the typical Alpine style, this contemporary house boasts a steep-sloping roofline atop a simple cube base. But that’s where “typical” ends. This modern home features an envelope of wood planks which, when shut, cover the entire structure – windows and doors included. This modern minimal exterior is complemented by an equally simple interior with large windows, a bright and spacious layout, and a white palette accented by naturally finished woods. A main staircase both divides the individual living areas in this open-concept layout, but also connects one floor to the next. Bevk Perovic Arhitekti.
