We love the quaint, warm aesthetic of Canada cottages, and this modern ski cabin by AKB (AtelierKastelicBuffey) certainly fits the bill. The pristine setting, at the base of a snow-covered ski hill in Collingwood – a skier’s paradise – is a second home to a family of six, providing a peaceful retreat and recreational pursuits just outside the front door. The wood clad cabin, inspired by local countryside barns, features a traditional silhouette dotted with plenty of windows that create a glowing beacon by night. But inside, the design is anything but traditional. The open concept house plan features a stunning double-height living area soaring up to the gabled roof. At the heart, a three-sided floating fireplace feature is the hub of the home. AKB
