Talk about a cool casa! While most new builds are being crammed onto their sites, stretching every last inch to the max, this modern house by Studio MK27 located in Sao Paolo, Brazil is scaled to its site here in this densely populated region. From the street, the V4 House all but disappears from view, thanks to its low profile design. The V4 House has been nominated for a prize in the 2012 World Architecture Festival.
The main living area features a unique design with sliding glass walls, which open to the private front garden and rear patio, engaging nature from every angle. In essence, the home is like an alfresco living and lounging area, sheltered from the hot sun while open to the cool breezes blowing through.
Minimalist in its aesthetics and maximalist in its appreciation of nature, this modern house is much like a garden, thanks to its ever-present views and wall-less layout. Timber walls and concrete ceilings connect indoors and out. Contemporary casual furnishings create a warm and inviting environment not short on style.
The open concept floor plan puts the living room, kitchen and dining area within this open space, looking out on the lush landscaping at front and back. No doubt about it, we could live here happily ever after without ever closing up those walls!
A modern, ceiling-mounted fireplace is a fitting focal point for this friendly, cozy living area.
Even the bathroom boasts beautiful views. Sit back in the soaker tub and enjoy sights of garden and open sky.
Just outside, a floating staircase leads up the home’s rock facade to the rooftop terrace, where relaxation is raised to new heights, so to speak. Just imagine kicking back in this top spot (a definite favorite in our books!), and stealing a few moments to yourself. Amidst hectic daily life, this simplicity is pure paradise.
