This rustic pine house designed by Sweden architects Waldemarson Berglund was built with the environment in mind – made using local materials and fashioned in such a way as to blend with the natural surroundings, but with a distinctly modern twist. The rough-cut wood cladding on the exterior will naturally go grey with age, complementing the surrounding stone, trees and water. A glass wall opens the linear main floor onto nature, maximizing the waterfront views and abundance of natural light flooding in. This Swedish villa is crowned by a roof top loft, fronted with glass and overlooking the sea. Underfoot, to avoid flooding by the nearby water, this seafront house was raised on stilts to let the water rush beneath it as it pleases. Waldemarson Berglund
