“We saw a lack of inspiration all around us in contemporary lighting design,” said President & CEO Andrew Schonbek… and so this manufacturer of traditional crystal lighting came up with … contemporary Geometrix that is absolutely brilliant (almost literally). Schonbek’s Geometrix is a whole new category of low-voltage lighting designed with Swarovski crystal. It’s expressed in at least four designs (from left to right): the ‘Matrix’ rectangles, the ‘Helix’ spirals, the ‘Vertex’ slices and the ‘Edges’ cubes. Schonbek
Schonbek’s Geometrix uses pure white halogen or xenon light that ignites the crystal. The crystal is available in 37 different colors that are unique to Schonbek. They suggest that “it’s especially effective hung in multiples over a kitchen island, by a bathroom mirror, in a foyer, down a hallway, over a bed – or hovering like unexplained celestial phenomena within a subspace of a larger room.”
The Strass crystal used in Geometrix is a new lily-cut octagon that is highly refractive and incomparably brilliant. Strass is produced by Swarovski AG in the Austrian Alps and is considered the finest crystal in the world.
