SIMO Design put this large kitchen island on wheels into one of its projects and we are taken with the concept. And the execution. It’s from their Flower Loft in Venice, California – a seaside resort with snake charmers on the boardwalk and fortune tellers on the sidewalk. But back to the kitchen island – don’t you just love it? That whole kitchen is to die for – from the oversize NY subway tiles to the French door, bottom-freezer stainless refrigerator. The wooden island is the perfect compliment to that room. And we love how the white stools pop against the back of the island. But mostly, we love that it’s on wheels. How unusual for such a large size island to be so moveable, but it makes sense. Some look at innovations and say why? We say, why not?
