From the exterior you might call this simple house design by Austrian architect Bernardo Bader “typical” but inside, this wood house is ideal for creative minds! Located in the quaint village of Bizau in the Austrian Alps, this mountain house is home to a children’s daycare. The conventional brick facade doesn’t hint at what’s inside, where the open-concept simple interiors are cool and contemporary, but with nature at every turn. Plenty of windows capture the uninterrupted Alpine views, revealing sun-soaked pine and ash wood-clad interiors. From ceiling to floor, the wood – which is provided by local artisans – is but one feature of this eco-sustainable home, which also boasts passive innovations that boost its energy efficiency.
