The Oslo Series by Anderssen and Voll, two of the most prominent (and successful) Norwegian designers has a fluffed pillow look that invites one to sit. And sit. And sit. Named both Norwegian and Scandinavian Designers of the Year, their work is internationally renowned. The sleek scarlet sofa pictured above has pencil thin (aluminum) legs, painted the same color as the Kvadrat fabric. This matching of the legs to the fabric is carried throughout the line. Crafted on the west coast of Norway for design house Muuto, the series includes sofa (two or three-seater), chair, and “pouf”. The ‘pouf’ is a New Nordic twist on the standard ottoman of the past – and not surprisingly, it comes from Muuto. “Muuto”, from the Finnish word muutos, means “new perspective” and the company challenges its young designers to imagine the new. Building on, and expanding, traditional design — the Oslo series is no exception.
Aluminum legs are painted the color of the fabric for flowing, unbroken lines.
The Oslo chair is both sleek and welcoming.
The Oslo “Pouf” is a modernist bench seat/ottoman.
The Oslo series comes together in an open, bright room.
