The “Ile aux Oiseaux” suite was designed by Martin Margiela and we love the soft interior design scheme contrasted by the amusingly bright red sofa. The main colors that dominate this space are white, black and grey and the walls are covered in trompe l’oeil wallpaper or cotton fabric. What the space doesn’t lack is texture. A lot of the accessories have an aged look, and some furniture items are reminiscent of early 20th century style, which adds to the soft romantic feeling of the space. The use of mirrored tables, columns and cabinets really adds some glamour to the space. Finally, the red sofa creates such a contrast in the room, both with its color and form. Gufram designed this lip-shaped sofa, named Bocca, in the 1970s. It’s a great choice for this suite and gives the room an edge and a punch of color. Talk about a conversation piece!
