Wei Yi International Design Associates designed an atypical industrial stylish concrete home in Taipei. Don’t expect to see exposed brick or metal pipes, steel beams, and other common attributes of industrial premises.
Described as “a different version of Zen”, the one-color interior is characterized by polished concrete, raw wood, and slim-legged furniture.
Preserving a dose of privacy, the home feeds off natural lighting that comes from its numerous windows. An open layout also keeps the space airy and big.
Wood panelling brings a rough texture to play against the smoothness of polished concrete flooring. In the kitchen its rough surface contrasts with stainless steel. And in the bathroom, concrete comes in concert with marble and smooth mirror. This home is a treasury of design ideas!
Bedroom, much like the small kitchen, doesn’t waste any space, accommodating only the necessary furnishings. And the monochromatic color scheme is more than enough to render such an interior stylish and cool. The only bright accents you’ll find here is a copper pendant lamp in the dining area.
If you’re tired of the typical industrial style, refined simplicity of untreated wood, steel, and concrete can really help you create a stylish home. Unique and cool doesn’t have to be complicated. It also doesn’t have to be loud and expensive.
