Ganna Design had an unusual approach to creating a calm and relaxing living space for two young doctors in New Taipei City. Designers used lots of darks shades and dramatic colors to decorate the contemporary home.
On one hand, there is plenty of light wood in the interior in addition to white walls and ceiling. On the other, decor has a Gothic-style chandelier in the dining room matched by a dark blue tinted glass cabinet.
In the kitchen a huge marble kitchen island complements the black and white white walls. And only in the bedroom and bathroom neutrals completely take over the design.
Open plan allows different shades of blue and green interact with the browns of marble as well as the other darker neutrals. At the same time no color breaks out of the picture.
Polished concrete sets a contemporary glamorous tone for the home, but it’s the details and accents that cement the aesthetic.
Wooden paneling in the living room isn’t merely a stylistic choice. Angled doors hide cabinets of various sizes to help keep flawless drama going. The opposite wall made in black, accentuates the darker elements in decor, giving them more gravity.
