And just how high are they? Six meters high – just under 20 feet! That is incredibly tall for a pivoting door. And our second thought was, what do they weigh? And incredible 2,000 kilograms (4,400 pounds) each. That’s heavy. Yet, despite their height and weight, they open with the push of a finger – like magic. The Antwerp design team of Pieter Peerlings and Silvia Mertens from SCULP [IT] Architecten developed these incredible doors. The rear façade of the three-story house was totally torn down and replaced with floor to ceiling glass. A clearly contemporary back wall for a stunning home with an outdoor aesthetic. And one that lets the sun shine in.
