The Escape Traveler – a tiny home on trailer – is designed to look like “prairie style” cottages at the famous couples only Canoe Bay Resort in Northern Wisconsin, a romantic getaway destination popular with honeymooners. This tiny home on wheels can be easily pulled and parked on its own trailer with a standard pick-up. It is made by ESCAPEHomes, an Almena, WI based manufacturer of travel-ready vacation homes, that is founded by the owner of the fore-mentioned resort – Dan Dobrowolski. So it’s not surprising that, according to Dan, these tiny vacation homes “truly are traveler versions of Canoe Bay’s award-winning cottages that folks can now own and move around the country,” and are “elegant yet intimate” designs.
The Escape Traveler is a 269 sq.ft portable home on wheels that sets a new standard for living large in a small space. It’s energy efficient, accommodates up to six people, offers full size appliances (including washer and dryer), living area with fireplace and big screen TV, kitchen, bathroom, two sleeping lofts, plenty of storage, and most notably, a large floor-to-ceiling window for that real resort-like feel.
The kitchen table lets you enjoy your breakfast and a panoramic view. The upper row of windows provides additional light making this tiny trailer home feeling spacious.
The kitchen offers plenty of cabinetry and ample amount of countertop space next to a large stainless steel sink with a cool Hansgrohe faucet. It fits a full size 30″ LP range, 30″ refrigerator and a microwave, and even it’s own window which makes food prepping more fun. The standard cabinetry is oak but you can go with optional maple for a more modern look, or even with cherry for a more upscale feel.
The upper sleeping loft has a queen bed, and the second sleeping loft or attic can fit another queen bed. Plus the first floor daybed unfolds into a sleeping couch for two. So you can sleep upstairs or downstairs, or have 4 more people travel with you. Or you can substitute the daybed with a regular couch and a coffee table, to have a cozy TV room.
